"Beautiful sound and great high register"
John Symer
oboist and world famous repairman
I have had a word of mouth reed business for 10 years with very faithful clients that range from 12 to 65. I have made reeds for players in the National Symphony, the St. Paul Chamber orchestra, and people who make their living doing recordings for films as well as junior high school students and college students. They all have one thing in common -they receive my professional reeds.
I don't make a medium soft extra fluffy kind of flarpish reed, an easy but sort of hard kind of hard in the high register reed. I make one kind of reed: good.
Some people claim to only send out what they would play on and that they have triple play tested them. I really do. I have no assistants, I do everything myself. The turn around rate is two weeks for a small order.
I believe in my reeds so strongly that if you have an issue, you may contact me for a replacement. In 10 years, this has happened 3 times and these people are STILL my customers. I am the kind of oboist that loves to make reeds. I myself had a tenured orchestra job for 13 years before resigning. I have subbed in major orchestras on both the oboe and English horn. I teach extensively and am aware of what works for people, not just myself, in a reed:
Tone, Pitch, Stability
I decided to begin LTK Reeds this year after constant urging from friends and colleagues. I offer oboe reeds and English horn reeds on a regular basis, oboe d'amore reeds and bass oboe reeds by special order only.

Reeds:
Shipping is by priority mail and $9.00 per order.
Due to the recent angst revolving around the Coronavirus, LTK Reeds has consulted a physician about germs and reeds. He suggested soaking reeds in Everclear which is 180 proof ethanol and will kill any and every germ. All reeds will go through this process before being packaged and shipped.
Also, please note that Liz will be traveling June 19-30, and no orders will be filled during that time. You may still place your orders, and they will be fulfilled in the order in which they are received.
"I want to give my highest recommendation to Liz Knott's reeds. Light, efficient, and beautifully crafted....even sound and centered pitch..."
