"Beautiful sound and great high register"
John Symer
oboist and world famous repairman
For over 16 years, musicians have trusted my reeds for one reason: tone, pitch, and stability.
My clients range from junior high students to principal players in major orchestras, including the National Symphony and St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. I have made reeds for film recording musicians, college students, private teachers, and dedicated amateurs. Every customer receives the same reed: a professional one.
I make one kind of reed.
Not the medium-soft, extra-fluffy, easy-in-the-middle-but-struggles-in-the-high-register kind.
Just good.
Every reed I send out is one I would play on myself. Each reed is individually made, personally tested for tone, pitch, response, and stability, then sanitized before packaging and shipment.
I stand behind every reed I make. If you ever have a problem, contact me directly and I will make it right. In more than 16 years of reed making, I have had only three reeds returned, and those musicians remain loyal customers today.
As a tenured orchestral oboist and experienced teacher, I understand what works for players at every level. I spent 13 years performing in a tenured orchestra position and have performed with major orchestras on both oboe and English horn. Years of performing, teaching, and reed making have shaped a process focused on one goal: creating reeds that help musicians play with confidence.
Because every reed is individually made and tested, please allow up to four weeks for delivery.
Tone. Pitch. Stability.
